dishwasher?

my kenwood dishwasher has a burning smell when on and once the door is open emits smoke. My guess is there isn't enough water going into the dishwasher.

Have you checked the inlet hose to see if anything is blocking it sometimes there is a mesh filter in one end that gets choked with scale it may be as easy as that...! I hope so anyway :)
