Mend Volkswagen 2.0 TDI Sport Warning Light

oil sensor garage warning light ?

my Golf 2.0 TDI Sport went into VW for a full major service, when I went to collect it a warning light was showing on the display panel showing OIL SERVICE GARAGE. VW said it was showing when the car went in, which I know full well was not the case. What could have caused this. Please help as I am now in dispute with VW.

Volkswagen Volkswagen 2.0 TDI Sport Vehicles, Cars Warning Light Sport

Check the bonnet open/closed microswitch sensor. The switch or wires may have broken. If it is not working the car will think the bonnet has not been opened and the oil sensor light will not go out.
