Mend Ariston A1324 Washing Machine Repair Door Lock

Ariston Margherita A1324?

I live in Belize and local repairmen know nothing about front-loading 220v washing machines. I need to know what parts to buy to repair the fault. I switch on, the door lock comes on, but instead of starting the desired program the dial just clicks round until I switch off the electricity supply. I cannot get hold of a wiring diagram, which one engineer asked for (US models have this as standard) Any ideas on what part(s) I need to buy?
