I broke down a few weeks back?

I thought I had ran out of diesel but I never.
The greenflag mechanic said I needed a new starter or to fix the wire to it.
I have since done both and it still wont start,
Everything else works on the van except it wont start with a turn of the key.
it start with a bump start but that's a major pain in the a**.

Any help on what the problem could be would be very helpfull.

Vehicles, Vans Weeks Needed Start

Great all fixed,
Thanks for you help mate apreciated.
It was the solenoid wire but it was broken inside the wire just had to strip it back and put the clip back on,
Tightend everything back up, an hey presto started first turn of the key..

you will have the heavy lead from the battery and the small wire on the solenoid,check you are getting roughly 12v on the small wire when trying to crank over engine,if you are and all leads/earths are ok then sounds like your starter is at fault

Will this be the wire that is attached by a screw to the starter itself or is it somewhere else.?

you will have to get at the starter and see if there is a feed to the small solenoid wire when trying to start

When key is turned to position three, where it would normally Start there's nothing.
All ignition lights come on but when key is turned to post 3 no click no start nothing.
8attery is only couple months old. Bought in nov 2010.

does engine turn over when key in start position, is engine turning but not starting,is it turning over fast enough,is battery ok?

the first problem is the make/model/year is not mentioned ,as not all vehicles are the same your problem cant be diagnosed!!!!!!
