Soap dispenser mechanism on a Indesit DE73?

I have taken the four top screws out of the inner door, which releases the control panel. All connections OK. But I have noticed a metal lever that looks like it has to do something in order to release the detergent door in order to allow the soap to disperse. This is fixed at the top end but is not connected to anything below, which it should be because the detergent/soap dispenser door will not open automaticaly. Code A13 indicates possible electrical fault, but it is clearly a mechanical problem, how does this Lever connect to the plastic mechanism, which is part of the soap dispenser. Any advice would be most welcome. If I had a diagram of the components layout, this problem would be solved.
