My xl 125 wont start?

hi my xl 125 wont start . I had the kick start going a couple of days ago and it some times works with a push start what is wrong with my bike.

check the valve clearances are ok these bikes are prone to the valve clearance closing up which makes the compression low and also burns the valve seats out.
