anti pollution fault?

my pequeot 307 diesel is driving very sluggish even with foot to the pedal!! then the anti pollution light came on, is this due to the diesel filter been dirty??? does it cost much to get fixed?? or was it dirty disesl put it at the station??' looking forward to your answers
