Mend Singer 600 Machine Knitting Working

i have a singer knitting machine model 600, it has been working great for years, but now it will not knit when carrage is coming from right to left, it has been cleaned and oiled , it's the main back carrage thats the problem, the bottom carrage works well, i cannot see anything broken, the machine is about 30 years old
