I am unable to get a tv picture?

I am unable to receive a tv picture. There is a constant message that reads 'no sync'. We are able to watch DVD's using the TV, but can no longer get SKY TV. SKY report that it has nothing to do with them and that the fault lies with the TV itself.
Can you help? thanks.
