Mend Whirlpool thin twin Washing Machine Vibration Noise

Whirlpool thin twin makes a vibration noise intermittently during agitation?

I have a Whirlpool thin twin wash dryer in a condo. During the agitation cycle of the washer, there is a relatively loud noise intermittently. I assumed it was a vibration, but could not find and area where there was obvious vibration. The noise can occur for just a few seconds or for longer periods.
