Miele G590SC Turbothermic dishwasher?

Hello, I have a Miele G590SC Turbothermic dishwasher. I select a program and hear the machine work but nothing happens. The Program Sequence Indicator does not go though the cycles. Please help!!!

Thank you Bernii for your answer. Problem was solved after cleaning the Non-Return Valve.

The machine fills, drains. then fills again. For about 3 minutes total.
Then water should pump round to wash.
If water is in the machine, to about where the plastic circular part at the top of the sump filter is, then the pump is probably seized.
