miele g646sc water leaking from solenoid (with photo)?

I have water leaking from the water intake unit half way up the right hand side of a Miele G646SC dishwasher. See photo of leak

The seal appear fine with no tears, or crushed etc.

Any ideas why its leaking.

Also had the same problem on a different miele dishwasher. Found the o-ring on the solenoid, added a decent amount of PTFE tape and back in action! Thanks!

Had the same problem, read these posts, dishwasher back in action thanks to you guys, ready for the xmas bashing that it's gonna take.

Thanks for the tip about using tape under the O ring- it totally stopped the water that was pouring out from around the solenoid

ACS you saved my bacon. I copied your PTFE idea and my dishwasher is running like new. I had searched everywhere for a new O Ring but could not find the correct size. Thank you soooo much

I have had the same problem with a G 653. I packed behind the O ring with PTFE tape and this cured the leak. I think the O rings shrink a but with age.
