Mend Opel Vectra 1.8 X18XE Air Fault Driving

vectra 1.8 mass air flow fault?

My vectra 1.8 x18xe keeps losing power when im driving. it wont start for at least half hour and the purge valve on the side of the filter housing operates during this time.
The fault code was air mass flow curcuit so i replaced it. it made the ecu light go off and it stayed off but the service light came on after a few min. driving, then a couple of days later the ecu light came back on the service light off and its started cutting out again while driving.
Has anyone any ideas whats causing this as mass flow sensors are expensive!!

hi ive got a vectra and on the air flow theres 4 fans the first 3 dont work but the 4th one does would be grateful if you could help me please.

Hi , thanks for the answer.
I just read the error code and changed the maf sensor,which turned out the ecu light for a couple of days. now back on. Cant say there is a pattern cutting out when its hot, happened twice 2-3 mins. after starting. will give it a go and you recomend testing the MAF to see if its actually faulty?

Possibly crank sensor, when they go wrong they tend to fail when hot. If you do replace it get a proper one from Vauxhall, cheap copies are a waste of money.

Did you test the old and new MAF sensors outputs using diagnostic live data or justr read the fault codes?
