Drayton digistat rf2 wireless system?

I have problem with my heating but all that aside decided to change batteries in the room stat, now i have no display at all on the unit tried 2 new sets of batteries but still no display even pressed battery compartments harder in case of faulty contacts. Please help! do i need an expert?
