advent 5421 not booting?

I reloaded my laptop with Vistabit worked fine. i bought this 2nd hand of a friend that sad it was very slow and full ovf viruses( thats why i reloaded it) i turned it off that night with everything . tried to turn kt on next day and nothing the hard drive lights comes on and cd drive keeps clicking but nothing on screen.. not even Bios check on memory count?? is it motherboard??
