how can I fix my 28i worcester boiler?

I have a 9.24 worcester boiler (very old) that had a similar problem 5 years ago. Frequent servicing did not fix the problem until one service man figured out that the temperature probes that act as a thermostat were covered in limescale. When he cleaned them....the problem went away.
