how can i fix my baumatic dishwasher bdw13?

i have a baumatic dishwasher, model bdw13 /14 or15, and i have an error code E3 which in the manual says its a "malfunction of temperature sensor or of heating element, could i fix this myself? and if so, where can i get a spare part, or will i need a service technician like the manual says.
