Mend Renault 19 Cabriolet Driving Automatic Gear

Renault 19 Cabriolet?

When driving my renault 19 automatic it changed up to 4th gear but then an orange light with zigzags came up on the dashboard and it dropped to 3rd gear and wouldnt change up again, what do you think it could be?
