Mend Thomson DTT701 Freeview Receiver Record

why does my thomson freeview record for 2hours +?

my thomson freeview box has started to record for 2 hours plus when the programme is say 30 minutes long or it will just record a programme for say 6 minutes.

any ideas as to how to solve the problem?
