how to fix a TEC MA-1400 cash register?

I have been given a TEC MA-1400 that hasn't been used for several years. It lights up when turned on but no buttons work. I have the owners and managers manuals but no troubleshooting guide in either. Help! I have the set key.

some one help!!! My cash register was working perfectly fine then all of a sudden... now all buttons are no longer functioning and it is making a CONSTANT "teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet" noise

thanks for info. Suspected battery was the problem, already have that out. Glad to hear would be OK with new one. Soldering OK but not so confident about clearing the RAM. Are instructions for this in the manuals?

Hi.
The battery will have failed (internal rechargeable). You will need a new battery in it, then it will have to be RAM cleared and re-programmed. A dealer can do this for you or you can have a go yourself if you feel confident with a soldering iron
