what is an ecu epron trip or cpron trip?????

we have been told by a machanic that our ecu is damaged due to ghosting and that is y the car will turn on but wont fire up but mentioned an epron trip n a code out of ecu as the imobiliser has kicked in due to ecu so we need to get ecu n bypass imobiliser. is this the case or do you have any other advice for us
