Mend Volkswagen Replace Golf Car

how can a replace the barrels on s reg golf gti?

both barrels have snapped due to the freezing weather and i can't get in to the car. i presume the central locking is ok,just need to replace the barrels.
Is this a job for a profesional or could i tackle it myself
