Mend Nintendo DS Works Fine Light

how can i fix my ds?

My ds works fine until i put a ds game into it. whenever i put a ds game in, the light turns on but the screens dont work. for some reason i can play download play or regular gba games just as long as there is no ds game in. i used to use the ar but im not sure if thats what broke it. please help.
