Mend Maytag PYE2300 Dryer Long Dry Clothes

Maytag PYE2300 Dryer takes too long to dry a load?

Dryer takes about 1-1/2 hr to dry a load of clothes and 2 hrs to dry a load of towels etc.
Lint tray is clean.
Vent pipe is clear.
Clothes are properly spun dry in the washer.
Loads are not too large.
Heating element comes on when started, cycles about 30 seconds on and 2 minutes off.
Is that normal, or should the element be on longer? Could the temperature sensor above the element need to be replaced?
Other ideas?
