how do i replace torn cv boot on 1994 plymouth voyager?

my left cv boot is torn, what's the procedure for repairing it.

They used to make cv boots that wer cut in half and you could attach them on axle with screws that joined the boot together
But most of the time to replace the boot the axle will have to be pulled and taken apart and boot replaced....its just as cheap to buy a rebuilt axle and replace as a unit
