badly runnig 150cc?

my bike stuglles to start when it starts doas not go fast at all wen i put it in 5 gear it runs like its in first gear and if i stop the reaves it cuts out runs nothing like it did wen it was new does it mean i need a new carburator can some one help me

check the spark plug. check for dirt in gas tank,fuel filter,carberator,clean air filter.also check the timing for correct timing.make sure you have enough oil level in the base. other cause would be worn out piston,rings,oil rings or too low of compression.
