No steam, the huge bursts of steam and water, Help !?

Further to my question on my iron not working, I thought I would try a soultion of white vinegar and water, so 20ml of vinegar and half a tank of water and one large bath towel, I held the iron over the towel and pressed the steam button until the iron was empty, out came some brown fluff, I then repeated the process just with tap water and my iron is now working. So Dave, I am so glad I did not take your advice about putting it in the bin.

My iron is doing something very similar! It only steams when it wants too!! I'm upset as they aren't cheap and you expect them to last. I have tried flushing it, leaving it to run out of water and reseting it, but still not wroking properly.
Can someone please help us?

Have you tried putting it in the bin for recycling?
