filling valve is stuck and pressure low. Think red handle to adjust has been broken off and now tried toturn and cannot. Only thing I can think of is changing filling valve to raise pressure? Any ideas?
you've more or less got it right turn off mains tap open downstairs cold tap to drain water undo flexi pipe first loosen other nut this should release any water trapped in pipe you will probably have to buy a complete filling loop kit if you want to change the non-return valve you will have to drain the c/heating system

it is a small valve at the end of the filler loop. opposite end of silver flexi pipe to non-entry valve. it is closed at present and cannot turn to open to up the pressure. how easy is it to change filling valve as seems to be basically an open/close valve. I assume turn off water and boiler undo both joints and refit a new open/close tap/valve. will much water come from boiler or loop end of pipes. loop end approx 1 meter from mains off tap and filler valve approx 50 cm.

are you sure it's the filling valve the knob if it has got one is usually black at either end of a silver flexible pipe or on the boiler itself a red knob directly under the boiler is for the heating pipe and must be in the open position
