I have to say it.....but a lot of gonads is spoken about flashband of any make. I have a length of flashband on my workshop roof that has been there for a little over 20 years and is still there and in good nick. If you are going to lay it on a porous surface then use flashband primer and it will stay there. I keep it warm in the airing cupboard until I need it, and do the business on a dry day. It never fails to do the job, just a little preparation is needed.

Check your warranty to see if you can have them come back an apply a torch application. Let them know that this may cause a future issue for you and that you are not satisfied. You can also get a roofing contractor to give you a free estimate. Make sure he gives you good notes on the estimate to support your claim and take it back to you lodge manufactor.

It is far less reliable than a heated tar and felt seal. Like any adhesive material it has a limited life of reliability when used outside. Also if it is being applied on top of textured felt, then the adhesion will be very poor.
Two more things to note:
4 inches is not wide enough. To provide a wide enough adhesion strip either side of your 2 sections the overlap (each side) should be 4 inches therfore a 9 inch wide roll should have been used.
Flashband adhesion can be greatly improved if the surface is pre-primed with Flashband Primer OR the Flashband can be made to stick more firmly (especially on a cold day) by the application of a hair dryer to warm the band whilst it is being smoothed down by using a rubbing cloth.
Do not use a blowlamp to warm up the flashband as it tends to cause the felt to melt under the metalic layer and they begin to separate.

Torch on everytime in your case.
The torch on I re-roofed a flat roof garage with comes in two layers a base layer with bitmumen both sides. Torched as it's rolled out the bitumen melts onto the roof boards or any CLEAN dust free surface. Followed by the top layer again torched as its rolled so melting into the base layer forming a very good weather tight seal. How it should be.

If relatively new ie: You had the lodge built then get back the company tell them you are not satified.

Flashband is ok in some situation but I wouldn't have thought it appropriate in sealing your roof joint as they would use that instead of hot laid being cheaper. Hot laid felt withstands seasonal tempreture changes and would be less likely to split. Flashband has around 10yrs life span if applied properly but suffer in extreams of temperature change and possibly shorten it's life span and start lifting as mine is on my conservatory roof [already on when we moved in]
