Mend Dimplex Electric Fire Noise

how can i fix a fault on my dimplex free standing electric fire?

my dimplex insert electric fire has been making a annoying noise for the past 8 weeks, it is coming from the rotatig part that gives the flame effect,over the last week it has got louder and the rotating part has stopped working, the rest of the fire is working fine ie the blow heater. would you have any idea, what the cause would be and how i could fix it?

remove grate and centralise the fan at the bottom,use a thin screwdriver at the end of the cylinder so that it is in the middle
