turntable wont rotate and makes an awful noise?

help my microwave worked perfectly well last night but this morning the plate wont turn and it makes a noise when switched on
its a sharp corousel 11

turn table motor gearing has possibly sheered. Dangerous to fix due to high voltages inside unit. Depending on cost of unit, either get it repaired or time for a new one.

If your competent then with the help of a local electrical parts supplier you may be able to get a new motor. No experience then please don't go looking inside.

Assuming the obvious fault is the motor :)
