how do i replace the heating thermostat worcester 20/25?

Boiler thermostat for worcester 20/25 heatslave combi boiler has just broken. it goes round all the way and does not click on. The electrical connectors are straight forward but there is a copper heat wire that goes into the boiler and I am unsure how this can be removed.
