Cannon Caress Gas Fire goes out?

Suspect that the pilot injector is partially clogged leading to the pilot flame not reliably reaching the thermocouple. If you remove the pilot light cover you can see if this is the case.

Your only options are to clean out the jet with a pricker or replace it. It can take a while to clean out all of the carbon deposits using a wire pricker so be patient.

The flame should come into contact with the thermocouple for it to remain on reliably.

My mothers cannon Caress fire goes out when she has it on the full flame setting the unit is well serviced and in excellent condition. Would it also be the thermal coupler that needs to be replaced?
If the unit can be purchased and repaired no doubt it would save her alot of money.

could be the thermal coupler, its a saftey device fitted to all gas fires

It will not stay lit when it goes out because the safety has to click off before u can relight and it will stay on - sounds like u need a new pilot assembly(oxypilot)
