Mend Ford Transit Problem Gearbox

i have a problem with my transit gearbox a 51 plate 280 swb ?

please can anyone tell me if you take off the gearbox lid do you have to take off the gearbox mounting and support the underneath of the gearbox to get at the gearbox lid holding the selectors thanks

disconnect selector cables,reverse switch connector,breather tube and six 10mm bolts and whole assy should lift off,dont think you need to touch mount
