Ran out of oil,then got a delivery. boiler wouldn't fire. Changed nozzle, fuel filter and vacuumed out all ash. Now it fires up for about 6 seconds then shuts down. Please help.
sorry but does the boiler have to be on to bleed it

Try cleaning the photo cell, if the burner is only firing for a few seconds that is probably the problem. Also clean the filter inside the pump and bleed well, there may be some air trapped inside the pump.

Sounds like air in the system. bleed oil feed.also could be some dirt behind the jet. never let them run dry. was there much muck in the filter ?
