I have no hot water?

how do I unfreeze a pipe when I dont know where the blockage is?

It's probably in the roof. If you are going out make sure you turn off the water stop tap in case it thaws and there is a leak. (You dont need a river coming down your stairs) You can maybe put a small heater in the roof to help it thaw. But becareful not to fall through and injure yourself. Better just to wait and let it thaw.
