Mend Vauxhall Astra 1.7 DTi Engine Starting

wots the problem with my astra estate 1.7 dti y reg?

car starts and runs for few minutes then suddenly cuts out
engine managment light comes on . you can hear the car powering down.i have to leave it a minute to start it again.just want to know possible problems

take off your tank cap and see if you get a hiss of air when opening,could be a blocked breather,has the filter been done recently?
