KH891 and KR850 - jams?

I have the brothers Knitter and ribber as above. I've not used them for a long time. Everything moves well but when I push up the ribber bed to meet the knitter and move the handle, the hooks just jam. From looking inside the ribber attachment the hooks just don't seem to move off the plate and then won't move at all. It moves fine when there are no hooks involved.

Right, I've bought a new sponge bar. See how that works. Thanks for your advice Sue

Hi Barbara,
As you haven't used the machine for a while it would be a good idea to check the sponge bar on the 891. Over time the foam degrades and does not put enough pressure on the needles. This is not usually too much of a problem when using the main bed only but will cause problems when you try to use the ribber. To be most effective the foam needs to be about 1/4 inch above the metal of the bar.
Hope this helps,

Sue
