Mend Brother kh830 Card Knitting Machine

Punch card for Brother kh830 turns but doesn't select any needles?

The machine is older and it was quite dirty. The punch card at first selected needles incorrectly so I opened it to clean the card mechanism. After I cleaned it up the card still turned but it did not select needles any more.
Everything looks like it is moving freely and I can see no missing parts or springs.
What else can I look for?

Hello daisymay,
WD40 is not a good idea as it solidifies after time and seizes up the machine, use knitting or sewing machine oil instead.

I had the same problem, my husband took the top off and cleaned the belt as well as he could then sprayed all the moving parts with wd40 and it has worked ok since, its worth a try if its unuseable at the moment!
