Skoda felicia 1.9 diesel injector pump feed and return?

There are two pipes from the fuel filter to the injector pump one is slightly thicker than the other, there are no arrows on anything telling you which is the feed and which is the return pipe, it doesn`t even tell you in the haynes manual, would anyone know please, thanks in advance if you can help.
