Mend Nissan K11 Need Change Micra

Do I need to change Nissan Micra brake cables?

My daughter's Nissan Micra 2002 has failed the MOT because the brake cable has stretched. Does anyone know if it's more likely that the rear cables would need replacing, the front cable or both i.e.is one cable more susceptible to stretching than the other?

Nissan Nissan K11 Vehicles, Cars Need Change Nissan Micra

as the cable is fairly cheap to buy from motor factors, i would replace the whole cable just to be on the safe side.
