ford transit 2ltr td 54 plate ?

hi there i have a ford transit 2.4 the fuel light keeps comeing on and smoke from the exhaust what is my problem ?

your spanner light may just be warning you that a service is due,to reset it-foot on throttle and other foot on brake,turn ign.on and wait 10-15 sec and should start to flash,turn ign.off,your other faults may be a bad connection behind dash,have you checked fuses?remember had one like that a while ago,talked to a friend at main dealer and he said give the dash a thump,they had a memo through relating to bad connections behind there,worth a look,good luck
