Mend Land Rover P38 Problem Motor Operating

What is the problem with the windscreen wiper motor on my P38 Range Rover ?

When operating the Flick wipe it frequently keeps operating and sometimes only stops when ignition is turned off. Also the intermittant wipe system is sometimes reluctant to stop. Is this a motor problem or something more serious.
