Mend BT XD 5500 Problem Bt Handset

Problem with Bt Freelance XD 5500 handset?

We have a base phone + two additional handsets.
When answering a call on both of the additional handsets the caller can hear me but I cannot hear the caller. Have carried out all the usual checks,batteries, power. reseting the phone etc.But they still do not work. Can you offer any advice?
