Zanussi ZWF1421W - not starting?

From switch on, and after selecting the program, and pressing start nothing happens. After about 10 seconds the 'End' light flashes (with beeps) four times. This pattern is repeated until powered down.
I assume it is a fault code but have not found any guide to what it means. Power is present ok, water feed it fine. I have checked internal connectors to the main controller, pressure switch and the door latch assembly. Also checked and cleaned the filter/drain at the bottom but am now stuck. Any help with this would be appreciated..more so from my wife as the washing is stacking up Thanks,
