Your storage heaters will have their own fused switch box seperate from the other switches. This is usually switched off during the summer months when they are not needed. When you need to turn them on, switch them on from their switch box and the wall switches. If they are automatic, they will switch on and charge up as and when needed, if not you will have to adjust the heat to your requirements. I have three Creda TSR automatic heaters in my house, they are switched on around 22nd October and switched off around 20th April and cost around £12 per week to run the three of them, during these dates. One set they never need to be altered and you dont have to have them serviced every year as you do with gas heating. I have very good insulation in my house, cavity wall, double glazing and 300mm of loft insulation.
