I have a tanaka 650 chainsaw. bought it used, cleaned it up and replaced broken starter rope. I atempt to start it and the rope(brand new) breaks after about 5 pulls. Did I install it wrong, or is there something in there that can cut the rope that I don't see? thanks for the help!
i keep having trouble getting the rope to coil all the way back in and thoughts on how to do it

There should be a plastic ferrule where the rope exits the recoil assembly. It screws in, so if it's missing the plastic thread in the recoil housing cuts the rope.
