LG ice dispencer door hangs up?

The flapper door on my LG french door refrigerator stays open after dispensing ice. A tap with your finger allows it to close shut. I want to service it (out of warranty) but I have no idea on how to get at it. I understand that you have access to the dispenser from the outside of the door. I have tried to wedge open the trim around the in door dispenser but I am afraid of bending it and still not gaining access.
How do I get to the Flapper hinge and solenoid?
