How can I stop the beeping in Kitchenaid KSCS25INSS refrigerator?

Just purchased a Kitchenaid KSCS25INSS01 (25 cu.ft. stainless steel counter depth with dispensers in door). Within two hours of install it started beeping about every 3-4 minutes (three beeps, then silent for 3-4 minutes). When the door is opened the lights are off and you must open and close the doors several times before they will come back on. The main problem is the beeping - it is not mentioned in the user guides anywhere as a normal part of operation or in the troubleshooting.

And as one could expect, the Customer Service # had a long wait que and never answered. I need help NOW before I can no longer return the unit.

I have checked the doors for closure, the unit for level, the water and even removed and replaced the filter. Nothing seems to be out of place. I have even placed a thermometer in the unit. It is properly cooling and making ice, but the beeping continues.

What is causing this and what do I need to do?

It is driving me crazy and I have only had it for 13 hours. Do I need to return or is there just a step that was omitted during the installation?

Please any help........

It seems the beeping can come from a number of conditions. I finally got mine to stop by simply emptying the ice from the ice maker. Letting everything dry out and putting it back in. The frost that occurred on the ice was being detected as error.

Thanks to everyone who posts here. I found my manual I all I had to do was reset the master alarm. It is do e by pressing the power on/off switch twice. After performing this master alarm reset, the indicator light will deactivate if the condition that caused the alarm is still present. Either "over temperature, door open or call service". Good luck to everyone out there

Not to sound like a broken record here... but ours did the SAME THING. Thank the Lord for you guys posting these answers because I didn't have a clue what to check.
Turned out to be the fridge door-sensor not being pressed all the way in when the door is shut. I found some adhesive scoot-pads for kitchen chair-feet (so they don't screach on a hardwood or tile when the chair is moved) and I stuck a stack of 3 (about 1/16-inch thick) on the door where the switch touches it. So far no more Beeps!

ours did the same thing. it ended up being that the freezer door did not fit properly and the unit was turning off because it thought that the door was open. there isn't a way to adjust it so i placed a small 1/8 inch washer at the top so it would push the door sensor completely up. We haven't had a problem since.

Please keep us posted on this. I have the same refrigerator and have had this problem occasionally over the last year. I hadn't heard the beeping in months; I recently had a repairman out for a different problem and after he left it has been beeping every 5 - 10 minutes. It is so far beyond driving me crazy...

I've had intermittent beeping on my fridge a month after it was installed and it was driving me crazy because it never beeps when the repairmen came. After a year of this and replacing practically every part in the fridge, KA extended my warranty for another year while they tried to find why it's happening. We are now near the 2 year mark and I'm hoping they'd just discovered the cause. They replaced the door switches for both sides and when they pulled the switch on the freezer side, it was a bit blackened so it was probably the defective part. Fingers crossed that that was it. Haven't heard of any beeping in the past 2 weeks, but the beeping has been know to stop for a few months and then start up again.

Same fridge, same problem. As metioned by others, it seems to be related somehow to the water filter located at the bottom front of the fridge.

Same exact problem. Our filter just pulls in and out, no turning. Tried to reset but still beeping. Anyone have any other fixes? Thanks,

Your problem is the water filter, check and make sure it is installed properly, also check inside the refer on the countdown on your filter and see where it is. If you are not sure the filter is install properly, remove it and push it in until it clicks.

Yes! I believe I got my beeping to stop! I checked the water filter (located in the grill below the doors). I read somewhere that the little dividing line of the filter insert should be horizontal. Mine was about a quarter of an inch off, so I turned it (in my case clockwise) to level it off and it made a clicking sound like it had just locked into place. Just to be sure I removed the filter entirely and then put it back into place. (I wanted to see how it worked anyway). That was two days ago, and neither my husband nor I have heard it beep yet. Keep your fingers crossed! And Good luck.
Would be interested to know if this works for you all.

We have the same refrigerator and are wondering the same thing. It was just installed a couple of weeks ago. Haven't tried to call the company that sold us the unit or the help line yet. But will soon. One time when it beeped, I opened the refrigerator door and it appeared that the unit was off. No temp lights were illuminated nor was the light to the frig. I pushed the on/off button a few times but nothing happened. Then I opened and closed the door a couple of times before it seemed to right itself.
