cannon coalridge b/f fire burner problem?

my cannon coalridge has problems igniting the gas...the pilot lights fine but when i turn knob onto no 2 postion the front burner doesnt light the gas immediatly ..takes several or more seconds and sometime s only when put on max (no5) causing whoosh when it light ...is there a prob with the injecter for the front burner perhaps clogge dpartly ?. the burner itself is ok no splits or clogged up .for some reason the gas may not be getting through quickly enough for the pilot lite to ignite the front burner also when its put back onto pilot when hot it wont ignite at all till cooled .. ..any ideas please
